Staff celebrated at annual awards ceremony

Colleagues from across The Wigley Group came together to celebrate the outstanding contributions of staff at the company’s Annual Awards Ceremony at Stockton House.

The event recognises the hard work and efforts of staff throughout the year through four awards voted for by the Executive Board, Senior Leadership Team, and colleagues.

Communications Co-Ordinator Tilly England was named as the Employees’ Employee of the Year, which is voted for by colleagues and awarded to the person who delivers their work to a very high standard, alongside being a colleague who looks to help wherever they can.

Tilly was recognised for her passionate, pro-active and committed approach to work and ability to forge strong relationships both internally and externally, operating in a polite and gracious manner even when under pressure, and for going out of her way to help others.

Quantity Surveyor Apprentice Max Bambury was named as the winner of this year’s Directors’ Employee of the Year award, which is awarded to the employee that the Senior Leadership Team feel has been relentless in the pursuit of high standards.

Max – who joined the company in October 2022 – was recognised for holding himself accountable in all that he does, working to a high standard and beyond what is expected of him, and for taking on responsibility of someone above his length of experience.

The Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Contribution recognises someone who consistently gives their all to the company, and this year’s award was handed to Construction Manager Andrew Higham.

Andrew was recognised by Robert Wigley and the Executive Board for managing the Construction department through a period of growth as it evolved and brought on new team members; continuously looking to improve himself, the business, and other people; and for offering help outside of his own team.

The final award saw Grounds Maintenance Operative David Wilson named as the very first winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

David – who is the longest serving member of the Estates Team – has been working with the Wigley family for over 30 years. He was celebrated for his incredible work ethic and commitment to the company, which is recognised by not only the Executive Board, but also by the team around him.

The Annual Awards Ceremony is a highlight in the company’s calendar and gives staff the opportunity to share and celebrate each other’s successes.

The Wigley Group would like to congratulate all of the winners in this year’s Annual Awards Ceremony and thank the whole team for their continued hard work.
