Alexis became The Wigley Group’s first apprentice when she joined in 2017, and within just six months was promoted to Accounts Assistant.
Alongside her role, Alexis is studying an apprenticeship scheme with Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training and having completed a bookkeeping course, is working towards an AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
When Alexis joined, she had no knowledge of accounts but took to the role immediately with her ability and willingness to learn and take on new and sometimes challenging responsibilities.
Her swift promotion, and winning the Employee of the Month Award on several occasions, has been in recognition of her outstanding performance. It also resulted in her being nominated and shortlisted in the final of the apprentice category of Coventry and Warwickshire First YoungPro 2018.
Her achievements have gone beyond the workplace with her stepping up to be the youngest member of a more experienced company team that took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising over £2,000 for Tiny Tim’s Children’s Centre in Coventry.
Alexis is an invaluable member of The Wigley Group and is a shining example of the benefits that an apprentice can bring to a business. We are proud to be supporting her bright future with the company.
